The Power Of Uncertainty Poem by Adora Williams

The Power Of Uncertainty

Perhaps I should just go out with the girls who don't know
A thing about what I write and wouldn't be able to grasp it

I've been thinking about how elated I've been keeping my views
How sure I am about the weather and the celestial equinoxes
How stable I envision this cosmic entanglement as
How perfected is my perspective and now I see that what makes us
Human
Is the uncertainty of what's next

That's what gives meaning to our lives, the open door to the crystal clear mountains
And the final choice in handed time that will certainly go ahead
But the fact that we can choose not to choose
Is wondrous

I keep that door open
I look at it every day, I know it is there and I can always go back
To stare at the entrance and decide
The crystal clear mountains can wait
The world can be meaningful in the simplest ways

Like when I go for a drink with the girls who don't know
A thing about what I write and wouldn't be able to grasp it
And experience their perspective for a day, give the metaphors a holiday
So they refresh their directing on Monday

I look at them and think to myself while their sound(ness) fades from my scope
I wish I could soft look at everything and just be all right in the blue atmosphere that is just a colour
But I'm just grateful that I can think about it
Be an outsider in the season
Write about it
Write about it
