The Priceless Gift Poem by Sanjukta Dash

The Priceless Gift

Rating: 2.5

They asked me
What is the secrecy that
Made them come to me

What is the thing
Tangible or otherwise
How is it what its type
Do I pick and chose
If not, how they rush
Age, gender across

I don't answer
I keep them guess
With a smile, simple
Again they think over…
I don't have riches, nor power
Not an icon I am, not a charismatic leader
Don't have beauty or grace..
Why then the passer by has a pause? ? ?

I could not linger the process
No more test their patience..
Listen my near and dears…
My invisible chord
That binds you all and attracts…
It's not gold nor diamond..
Neither a glittering gift
It's not a promise false
It's not an undue assurance
But….
It's a share from my own
It's out of my savings
Foregoing my consumption..
The portion that I made in your name…
That is the PRICELESS
Which I never expect you to pay back
Has no substitute of its own…
But I share it every now and then…
WITH you all….
It's T I M E…second to none……
