She
She knows
Where to stamp her feet
But struggles to reach the spot…
She knows
When to speak and to whom
But sometimes it echoes back
Without being heard…..
She is clear
Of her aspirations
But more often
Denied of bare minimum……
She extends her supporting hand
But not always
It is reciprocated….
She is happy
With the smallest thing
She is embarrassed
When appreciated a little…..
She feels blessed to be
Understood, in the same line
But …
Why there is a gap..
Between the cup and the sip?
Why the talks ca'nt walk?
Why she begs for those,
By default to be her own…? ? ?
Why she shouts, screams
Fights and bleeds every now and then
For the encroached entitlements
Of her own…..? ? ? ?

She- is always She.As if she is unable to stand as 'I'! This happens in almost everywhere. This is a peculiar pain not being realised by many. This is so beautifully woven.10.
you have narrated the struggle and oppression faced by women in the present society in your lively and touchy lines....full 10 marks to you......
Sorry Mr. Das. Could view your reactions today. Because of office exigencies I couldn't visit the page regularly. Thank you so much...I highly appreciated your review. Further tips for improvement is eagerly awaited.
Great poem! Why must she beg for that which is rightfully hers? This seems to be the first poem that you have posted on this site, so welcome to Poem Hunter!
I would also like to add that the poem also reveal the hypocrisy and double standards of our society which have been shaped through hundreds of years of their history. Thanks.

Amazing poem. Looks like a meticulous study of a woman's status in our society and the turmoils she is subjected to. Thank you, Sanjukta, and welcome to this Forum. She is clear / Of her aspirations / But more often / Denied of bare minimum Why there is a gap / Between the cup and the sip?
