The Princess And The Toad Poem by Shaun Cronick

The Princess And The Toad

Rating: 5.0

The sun oozed over the horizon,
Shoving aside darkness,
It crept along the vast castle keep
And with sunlight sticky fingers,
Pushed through the castle window,
Revealing the pillaged princess,
Her face ashen,
Her hand at her throat,
Her eyes perplexed,
Her crown asunder,
Gaping in frenzied horror at the sated,
Sodden amphibian lying beside her,
Disbelieving the magnitude of the toad's deception,
And screaming madly...
You lied!
