The Prophet Poem by Cody Marks

The Prophet

Rating: 2.5

Fear God and be cruel
Preach love and churn hate
Love him and turn away his children
Love life and ordain some to die

Sing love and cut friends down
Turn away from the hungry
To find a feast for yourself
This kingdom you really love

Demand humility and self-exalt
Rebuild the walls of sin
Exalt your minted idols
For thee you trust oh prophet

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this in 2014 when I worked for a company I felt was being unfair and was concerned about how some Christians act towards people they are supposed to love.
