The Prophet Iddo Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

The Prophet Iddo

Christmas and Easter do not come from the Scriptures but,
It had turned out to be the greatest business season on earth!
And The Scriptures rather goes against them.

The Easter goes with rabbits and coloured eggs,
But, how can the rabbits lay eggs?
And like a story of the Germans,
Do seek for the truth always to lead you on in life.

We were told that the Germans do not drink water but,
Take a visit to this country and see things for yourselves;
They rather drink the best water in the world as the truth,
So such your Scriptures for these feast too and learn.

Out of Ur of the Chaldeas,
Five smooth stones from a brook;
But do parden my sins and return to me,
For the truth are very clear on the walls.

Of a man who is deeply troubled,
Of a woman who is deeply troubled,
The truth of The Scriptures are hidden to many;
So no razor shall come upon his head.

My heart is pounding for love and my mind writes,
So cry out loud towards your dreams and grow to them;
And narrow is the gate that leads to the truth.

Do not fornicate and do not commit adultery,
For broad is the way that leads to distruction!
And MANY are they who really love this way.

Of his brother's murderer,
Of his sister's murderer,
And the day for the mourners;
But i am the Prophet Iddo to tell you the truth.

A day for the lovers,
A day for the sinners,
A day for the singers;
Like the aboundance of the rich left after death,
And like the sleep of the labouring man for little food.

Another fairly tale is at hand,
And MANY are they who are glued to lies;
Of a deep sleep and a sweet dream like,
Strangers in the land of beautiful Mount Zion.

Ensalved for 400 years and living like,
A young pigeon in the region of love;
But the possession of your seeds are needed on this love.

You've made yourselves preachers but,
Your words are naked and bare;
So come and wrap yourselves in my fine linen of love,
For the morrow comes and it is judgement time.

I am the Prophet Iddo with my words,
Like a young bull and seven rams;
For the preachers of Elohim had told you lies!
And a heifer, a goat and a ram is needed for your offer.
Come and learn from the truth,
For the Svritures are everywhere for you to read as well;
And, this wrold still waits for the business of the seasons.
