The Pull Of Ghosts Poem by Diana van den Berg

The Pull Of Ghosts

I look for you

in the smiles of
of dappled dawn light;

in the secrets of the dark night-sky
tickled by star-sparkles;

amongst rough-barked giants
offering their foliage to the heavens;

in the rain streaming tears
down my window panes;

in the rainbows laughing wide
leap-frogging across the blue;

deep within my psyche
where you breathed four seasons;

And you are in all these places.
Why do you haunt me, taunt me so?
