The Quiet Rebellion Of Disharmony Poem by Alaina B.

The Quiet Rebellion Of Disharmony

Rating: 5.0

Sitting in the silent street
I watch alone, a grown woman weeps
My society has collapsed
We, a people, are trapped
Such a sweet, sad song
Where has the time gone
From dancing in a field of forever flowers
To being strangled by the thorns of men in power
Dissonance spawns from discord
No, I won't smile more

The bittersweet glow of street lights
And smiles from being disliked
I'd leave if I could
Abandoning what they thought they took
She cried, she sobbed, and she weeped
Tears so loud, and cries too sweet
The sands of time spill by
As I slip away from prying eyes
