The Race Poem by Andrea ChavisCrawford

The Race

Life is made up of desires that seem big and vital one minute
Im running this race and it feels like im never going to finish
Im looking at the finish line and your not even there
I stumble and catch myself as i gasper for air
All of a sudden i see you and thats when i fall
With your hand out reaching for me, i began to crawl
I look at you to say were have you been
But i guess we get whats best for us at the end
