The Racists Are Among Us Poem by Hebert Logerie

The Racists Are Among Us

The racists are among us. They are everywhere:
Upstairs, downstairs, on our left and right side,
Down south, up-north, in the center, and in the air.

The racists live in an environment of false pride,
Anxiety, Ignorance, low self-esteem, fear, deception,
Avarice, greed, desperation, deprivation, alienation,
Polarization, craziness, loneliness, nervousness, sickness
Powerlessness, selfishness, strangeness, and weakness.

Some racists live quietly among us; they will not utter a word,
They will say nothing; they hide, in the closet, a sharp and deadly sword.
Those racists are as dangerous and devilish as the outspoken ones.

The racists do not believe in God, love, friendship, justice, charity,
Happiness, brotherhood, sisterhood, togetherness, sympathy,
Patience, wisdom, association, courtesy, patience and humanity.
Those racists are the sons and daughters of Satan; once
They suck the blood of a victim; they quickly run to hide in the ponds.

The racists are among us. They are everywhere:
At church, at the cemetery, at the station, in the air,
In the school, in the office, and in the atmosphere.
