The Rain Poem by Samer Al Khouri

The Rain

As I escape into a world with no boundaries
One that I can't explain
I open my eyes and feel the rain
Wash away my engraved sins

As I live the dream, dropping all constraints
Muting the voices that shout in vain
I dance to the sound of raindrops
That fall upon the tomb stone's stele

As the music enchants silent cemeteries
And colors the gray-scale in which those graves were nailed
A cry of laughter joyfully fills the air
Puts a smile on the faces of those buried in the graves
