The Rainbow Bridge Poem by Cheryl Inglett Cherrie

The Rainbow Bridge

Rating: 5.0

Just this side of heaven is a place called the rainbow bridge.
When a beloved pet dies it goes to the rainbow bridge.there are fields and hills and lakes for all our special friends, so they can run and play or swim and fly together.there is plenty of food and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.animals who were I'll and old our restored to health, those who were hurt and maimed were made whole and strong again, just as we remember them from days and time goes by.the animals are happy and content except for one thing.they miss someone very special to them, the one they left behind.then the day comes when one animal stops and looks into the distance.their eyes become bright and they quiver with excitement.suddenly they break away from the group, speading over the hill or through the lake.running, swimming, slithering, flying going faster and faster.you have been spotted and when you and your friend finally meet.you cling together in happy reunion never to be parted again.
Happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands caress their beloved head.you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet.so long gone from your life but never from your heart.
Then you cross the rainbow bridge together.
