The Real You Poem by Veronika Chernik

The Real You

Rating: 5.0

The real you,
Was one that changed.
The same mind,
Just rearranged.
The same act,
Was how you played.
The same grin,
A bit delayed.
The same way,
You danced around.
The same heart,
Was what I found.
The same ghost,
Of days we had.
The same taste,
Was quite a fad.
The same dreams,
You let us seek.
The same laugh,
From week to week.
And now you,
Who's changed so much.
Not as real,
Slip from my touch.
The same tears,
That we once shared.
The same good-bye,
I've always cared.
