The Recurrent Nightmares Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

The Recurrent Nightmares

The Recurrent Nightmares

Ashes from the dusts, cells and floras,
flooding the gutters, the runnels,
overwhelming immensity of the doom's prophecy,
with Nostradamus,

not so much as this great lives machinery,
or it's awesome superiority,

the lowly discord's
the surpassingintelligence,
thatholds this promised land,

bowing to exuberance,
extravagance,
immensity as needs and wants,
more possessions than appeased hunger's hearts,

But look at our decimated planet,
Anger combines loyalties,
of men and natural forces,

thisawesome intelligence,
of science,
less than spectacular,
less than brilliant the annihilating of the entire species,

the undreamed ordnance,
ultimate combustiblepayloads,

What lurks in our inherent mind are the recurrent nightmares,
the unknown factor of our future,
sons and daughter's,

to view our own passage,
after the atom bomb,

maybe a germ warfare like NCOV-19,
or another terminal plague that end us all,

as a race that was,
ever inspired,
by contagions, war machine,

his owned hands as inventions,
the survival of the fittest,

the mind surpassing God retributions
and vengeance,

diligence to what one day,
shall become the legend that was,
a race that was unusual in flair intelligence,
brilliance of science
and the perils of the unknown.
