The Reject Poem by Shivaprasad KS

The Reject

Love is hard, So is Life.
Start of an epic, end of a fight,
Morning smiles, hearty talks,
Like a butterfly, the way she walks,
My Wonders and My Doubts,
Washed away, stained the grounds,
This is the one, This has to be,
No one is perfect but the Queen to be,
Candy thoughts and Glassy trust
But the road was made, half the war was won.
With the Ultimate promise, the deal was done.

A Letter in blue, Written in Red,
Mistaken to be love,
Is the feeling of dread,
Fear of losing, a mighty pedestal.
Gold is glory, mightier is pen.
Grey are feelings, which once were red
Nourished in light, but left for dead.
Standing midst of a one way bridge,
Can have this but Can't lose this.
Brighter the bulb, better the light is.
In a hurry she ran, the umbrella at hand.
Hoping a rainbow, was waiting at the end.
On the other side was a darker scene.
The smile was gone, and an endless bleed.
Hopes of a future, empty screams.
Joy had seeped, and tears were shed.
False are the tales, He once read.

Dejected, his mind was a messy mush,
Seeking the hand, For a peaceful truth,
The promise, the deal, were lies to be told.
For he was young, and not yet bold.
The ground felt good, he was sinking in
This is the end, came a cry from within.
And mystery for him was the work of fate,
For he didn't know love also had an expiry date.
Sinking he gasped for the final breath
Found a shining meadow, not a sign of death.
The time has gone, and the wounds have healed.
He was crowned once he learned to kneel
The king of the world,
Had nothing left to forget.
But the stubborn memories tell him,
He's a Reject.
