The Right To Say No. Poem by alex sarich

The Right To Say No.

I don't want to be tied to timetables
I don't want to answer to an alarm clock
I want to say shut up when I can
I want more me-time no chores or
inflated ideas of how to begin a day
as Frankie said, I'll do it my way.

I don't want time to work faster than me
but slow the heartbeat of the world down
let us breathe and take what it has to offer
gracefully and make music and not get married
to ambition, just enjoying life to another level
without wanting to be censored or tongue tied.
