The Road That Has No Witness Poem by Achilles Mauko

The Road That Has No Witness

There is a road that belongs to no map,
because it is made each time it is walked.

No footprints remain.
No directions endure.

You walk it without guarantee
that you are moving forward
rather than becoming someone else.

And yet, step by step,
you discover something unexpected—
that direction is not always geography,
but integrity sustained over distance.

And the road, though unseen,
recognizes those who do not abandon it
midway through their becoming.
