The Sad Sack Of The Town Poem by Francis Duggan

The Sad Sack Of The Town

Rating: 5.0

Though compared to many your problems seem small
And life has not been treating you badly at all
Still you don't feel happy and you are close to tears
You've never felt this way in for you worse years
Of Hardship in life you are one who can tell
And you know what 'tis like life in Earthly Hell
But the challenges of life you bravely did face
And for sadness in your mind there wasn't a place
Life has been good for you of late one might say
But you feel depressed you've never felt this way
Even when times were tough and you were unemployed
A good laugh at life and a joke you enjoyed
Though now in well paid employment you feel sad and down
And you have become the sad sack of the town.
