The bagpipes all played
All souls were all swayed,
As they watched their flag in the breeze swaying
The bagpipes kept on playing.
The sacred flag of Saint Andrew
A white background and a diagonal cross of blue,
Flies still with pride throughout the year
Also known and called the saltire.
Across Scotland their national flag is flown
Around the world their flag is known,
The flag known because of a Saint
Unto warriors upon their faces that flag they now paint.
Saint Andrew a disciple of our Lord Jesus
Christ died for us all and he still sees us,
He died on a cross for us one and all
Saint Andrew wept, when the crucifixion he saw.
Saint Andrew kept the lord's teachings
He continued the lords preachings,
Then he too was arrested and also jailed
Death for him was judged and prevailed.
Saint Andrew was later crucified
And how he was positioned when he died,
He wasn't worthy to be crucified as Christ the Lord
So, he was crucified diagonally on his own accord.
The Bagpipes were played and heard
Not spoken was a single word,
As the bagpipes kept on blowing
Pride, faith and love kept on showing.
