The Sapling Poem by Leslie Montano

The Sapling

Rainbow emotions after a stormy day
You left me there
Without a word to say

Drenched, cold, stunned I stood
Not moving, never could

Not sure what to do
Looking up for a clue

Silent movement of wind
Edging me to move

To stop waiting
To stop thinking of you

But rooted I was
The tree I must be

For one day you will see
And come back to me
