To My Own Timeline Be True Poem by Leslie Montano

To My Own Timeline Be True

To thine own self be true
But what if it is hidden from you

Take a breath
Does not help

Focusing, centering,
Is just frustrating.

I've always asked
What am I to you

So I know what I am truly
Or what I never was

Truly confusing
In a world full of masks

Take off a mask, just to replace it with another
Another timeless keepsake

In a the timeline of lies
