The Shaming Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

The Shaming

Rating: 5.0

Spirits are waning
there's no use in explaining
I'm lost and alone inside
My hopes are draining
It's not her fault alone
and I'm not blaming
I felt love coming
now I feel it draining
Cupid shoots arrows at our hearts
but he's not good at aiming
No soft hand to hold
she had me and lost me
but I'm here for reclaiming
he name is on the tip of my tongue
My desire for her is inflaming
I'm ready for real love
I'm so tired of it's gaming
I feel a fire inside
she has a way of fanning and flaming
I wish I had a photo of her
suitable for framing
I think she loves me sometimes
But doesn't think I'm suitable for taming
But I never needed anyone more
I'm so lost without her care
I'm just proclaiming
My heart is breaking again
I feel the torture and the maiming
