The Ship Of Sorrow Poem by Wangchat konyak

The Ship Of Sorrow

Once sailed a ship with a noble guide,
A captain whose heart with kindness did abide.
His voice, a starlight for those at sea,
Leading his people, noble and free.

But alas, fate's cruel hand did strike,
Midway through the journey, taking his light.
And in his absence, chaos did brew,
As corrupt successors took their due.

Greed and injustice ruled the helm,
As the once proud ship fell under their realm.
Laws forged in malice, taxes imposed,
The people's rights, all but deposed.

Those who dared to speak, cast aside,
By elites who in corruption did abide.
The layman toiled beneath the weight,
Of unjust burdens, sealing their fate.

The layman were banished from the ship,
Their citizenship revoked with a cruel whip.
Punished and fined for daring to oppose,
Their voices silenced, their hopes enclosed.

Day and night, they toiled on,
Beneath the sun's scorch, 'til the night was gone.
Dreaming of a captain just and true,
To lead them to a brighter view.

But the corrupt captain's grip was tight,
His influence reaching far into the night.
The voyage seemed endless, the shore a dream,
As the layman's hopes grew thin, they bury dream.
