The Slow Goodbye Poem by FienX lastname

The Slow Goodbye

When do you stop trying to hold on to something that already seems to be gone?
Everything is breaking except dawn
You're fading like a shadow as the sun disappears
The brightness dims as the clouds interfere
For you, I'll always be here
But now it feels as though I'm in the background of your premier
The outer circle of your peers
Everything has changed
We're as tight as elastic
As real as plastic
Loosing the bond
It's inevitably tragic
And on late nights like these
Thinking too much
Am I fighting for the feeling or the person?
You're so thirsty
But not for us
Now we're withering
The lights are flickering
The shine no longer glimmering
Vanishing quicker than your reflection in the mirror
You've altered your interior
Moral ground is wearier
And we're inferior
So this is the path you choose
You can forget me,
but please remember you

- It's late, I'm tired
