The Sneaky Snake Poem by Dorsey Baker

The Sneaky Snake

The night seemed strangely long
As if morning would never come
The river could be heard
Lapping its tongue loudly
As if it's mouth too thirsty
To take its time
Otherwise everything else
Seemed almost quiet and still
And this is the very spot
It's secrets now told as honest truth
The moon was out casting its light
Upon the rolling river
As it pushed itself around
And about
The heavy wind blew cold
A big rock like a spinning wheel
It rolled itself away
Exposing a very sneaky snake
