The Soul On Fire Poem by Rik Bertrand

The Soul On Fire

I carry in me an inner strength, a fuse ready to be lit,
There are times I feel I need to use it, if only for a bit.
But I will hold strong, I will hold down my rage,
And I will keep my weapon in its cage.

For those of you that have no clue of the most powerful weapon on earth,
I hold it here inside of me, and it's ready to give birth.
You too carry this weapon, and it is easy to hot wire,
This power deep inside of you is the human soul on fire.

The human soul is the lifeline of your total existence.
The use of the fiery soul should be in measured temperance.
The soul on fire has what is called, lifes magic power,
It can destroy the worlds of many, and turn mountains to powder.

I beg you to be careful, I pray you stay at peace,
I say God be with you, if this power you do release.
The soul is our lifeline; it manages our daily lives,
And if you are too careless it will cut you like knife.

We all have this fiery power that resides within our soul,
But using it frivolously can really take its toll.
So keep your soul warm and free, free from the fire
And you will have peace and love, as much as you desire.

REB (MARCH 2012) because the soul is your protector
