The Sound Of Dawn Poem by Frank Adie

The Sound Of Dawn

The sun's ray peeped through my open window,
And chased away the night shadow;
Dawn came beaming like a cheerful smile,
Sending the chickens out on their daily pecks.

When the sun like the lion roars,
Darkness gives way to the king of lights;
The night terrors scamper to their cocoons;
And the sun rule over the affairs of men.

Okokorokoo is the language of the crow,
Okokorokoo heralds the morrow,
Okokorokoo is the sound of dawn,
Okokorokoo is a victory song.
