The Standing Flame Poem by Christopher Cariad

The Standing Flame

Than anniversary is here,
That day the earth stood still in fear…
When the candle of life
Withdrew its flame
And the light came crashing down in pain.
Then man stood together,
Restoring great optimism for this september.
Of this state united
And standing against terror.
Reigniting this passion,
Rising tall for the world to see.
That this flame has bound together
And forever will this flame be
Sky high, In remembrance of unity.
