The stars do not envy the moon! Each has its destiny.
At midnight, dawn or afternoon, each has its place, you see.
When men contend against their fate, their Master and their Lord,
God knows for some it is too late for favour and reward.
But truly humble men can pray and seek the Father's will,
Though stumbling when at first they pray, kneeling, completely still.
And so, why wait for tragedies to lead us to God's Throne?
Why hesitate to find the peace that comes through Christ alone?
There is a man who knows the truth that Sunday Schools once taught,
To him, when he was but a youth, who pondered on each thought.
And while this world reduced his faith down to a mustard seed,
That proved enough his soul to save, to save his soul indeed!
The faithful man preferred to kneel and sing, 'How Great Thou Art! '
Amazing Grace, to him, is real. It lives within his heart.
He still recalls a verse or two that helped him smile and laugh,
And when baptised, that helped him through, to stay upon God's path.
He did not shed a single tear, nor think it as distress
To tithe his money every year, good causes to address.
A thousand here, a thousand there, were helped because he shared,
He was the answer to their prayer because each year he cared.
The 'common man' ignored God's Word, His prophecies and laws,
His empty life was more preferred despite its daily flaws.
The 'common man' ignored their pleas and bought a fancy car,
Then smiled with joy to hold the keys and travel oh so far.
Yet no car goes to Calvary, nor reaches Heaven's Throne!
You see, that takes humility that comes through Christ alone.
While stars get guided by God's power, each sinner needs much more,
We need the Saviour's love each hour, and I know that for sure!
Blessed are the lost souls Jesus finds and strengthens them enough,
Beyond their bodies and their minds, as Christ, the King of Love!

Here is a Gospel poem by the Poemhunter poet Denis Martindale.
The title is, 'THE STARS DO NOT ENVY THE MOON! '
The poem explains how the Gospel can change the world when people give from the heart. There is a Christian quotation that guides us toward compassion for others. 'Live simply so that others may simply live! '
In a sense, a Christian believer can receive many blessings until the time comes when he senses that his blessings are not all meant for him alone. He understands how the tithe offering can help others in need. The 'common man' is inclined to be selfish, but does he need a fancy car while others are suffering? Is he deliberately blind to their plight? God knows the good that the 'common man' can still do even now. There is still hope that he will make it to Heaven. That is why the poem ends with Jesus offering to help people to change for the better, enough to improve, and to bless others!
