The Stitcher Exits The Stage Poem by Sean Furlong

The Stitcher Exits The Stage

Stitcher with your thread of gold
My heard stayed warm but yours turned cold
Your woven thread once kept us together
But now unraveled it wafts like a feather
While all the gowns and costumes were made
What once we had between us frayed

I’ll remember the beautiful tapestries we had
And forget the ones that turned out bad
For all the times you made me smile
For all the times you snugged awhile
I’ve kept them close right from the start
And won’t forget even when we’re apart

We put on a good show, you and me
And for that, I thank you, and will let it be
