The Storm Clouds Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

The Storm Clouds

The horizon is black with rage
Young people drugged to stupor
Yet the rats are scarrying into hiding
For there is a strong elephant messaging sound in the air
Soon, lightening bolts will rip through the night sky
Those in the open fields are warned

The river will soon seethe with wrath
Streets will be ripped open
Crimson waters rage through the city
Let the wise run to high ground
For the water canons are out
Tanks already rolled out
Will they be rolled back to barracks easily?
There are heavy stormy clouds in the sky.
