The Streets To Nowhere Poem by Ray Hansell

The Streets To Nowhere

The empty nights
Can make you blue
A lost feeling
Comes over you

The days pass
One by one
You don't miss her
But you miss your son

So many things
In life went wrong
You wonder where
You find the strength to be strong

Your stuck in this city
Fresh out of hope
Your life reminds you
Of a kaleidoscope

With twists and turns
Colors and shapes
You want to leave
But there's no escape

This city has a way
Of wearing you down
You have no choice
Your bed is the ground

Your body is weary
From cold winter nights
A life full of wrongs
Where nothing's gone right

But somehow you manage
To always survive
The pain you feel
Let's you know you're alive

Your life didn't go
The way you had planned
The door to success
Has always been slammed

But you never gave up
Because you believed
That sooner or later
You would achieve

But that's never happened
Up to this day
You're on a dead end street
That only goes one way

But you still live with hope
That one day you'll find
Your way out of this city
To leave it far behind

A sad, but profound poem. You can almost feel it as you read it.
