The Sudden Rain Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

The Sudden Rain

The Sudden Rain

How, the blank canvas of a perfectly white morning sky,

Holds the great promises of a continuos great day willcome suddenly, out of anger,

Darkeningskies with bold displeasure, andsharp lightning bolts, loud cracking thunderscame like thrown darts from the sky.

the heavy rain came drumming the tin rooftops,

Everywhere, the scamperings of human feet in search for any structures to hide.

made uncertain with
blind and bad choices because they cannot hide from the rain.

The girls giggled and the men confronting
the elements made it wise to remember

In a moment of emerging insights.

who'sin charge of this world and calling the shots.

our eyes blink and blurredat the the camouflaging torrents,

Now nature commands his undivided attention.

We waited patiently for it to stop on a scarily accommodating rooftops,
Shrivelling at the cold embrace of moisture and the chilly wind.

Our wet wet clothes paste tightly on our wet body,

The comforts of a warm and dry home
a cup of hot coffee and the dry bed made most appealing.
