The Sun, The Moon And The Stars! Poem by Denis Martindale

The Sun, The Moon And The Stars!

One night, when the moon glowed bright,
there were voices from the distance of the Cosmos.
The stars asked of the moon, What are you in the scheme of things?
We are each known by God, and He knows our names.
You are just the moon and seemingly remain unnamed.
We are many, and yet what of you, young moon?
You remain alone, all alone. What are you in the scheme of things?

And the moon remained humble in its reply.

I am THE MOON. I am unique. I am placed precisely by the LORD.
I have a purpose in the scheme of things.
In essence, I am a servant of the King of Kings.
I shine thanks to the brightness of the sun and its God-given power.
The rest of me remains in darkness, yet I still serve.
I do my part and no more. I do not need to wander as the stars do.
I light up here and there upon the Earth right there.
Even the Earth is unnamed, as you say I am now.
Yet of us are glorious stories and precious poems written,
by the chosen sons and daughters of Man.
Sharing the revelation of our partnership,
our wisdom, might and beauty.

You know, the children who look upon us all, first upon me
and then staring at you, God's yonder stars in wonder!
So have your portion of glory while you may!
Yet here I stay! Yes, here I stay and serve!
