The Sunflower Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

The Sunflower

The Sunflower

Once stopped by a farm
-saw mass of large, small
-yellowish circles of …
-inside them many seeds
-in grey and waiting…
-got close to oldest
-removed all the filters
-and became good friends
-talked of hearts and brains
-without walls, barriers.

"F… the Sun…" said friend.

In me boiled a bubble;
-worriedly and humble
-I questioned:

"F… the Sun…? "

"Yes, the Sun as leader! "

Being dumb, took me time
-with "Sun" meant the leaders
-the riders, the pilots, drivers
-who hold reins as masters…

"This land was hillier,
-damn mankind flattened,
-removed the trees and
-made canals for rivers
-then ploughed to sow and
-spread the seeds of
-need for which, cut trees
-turning birds to homeless;
-then after, the foxes
-dispersed as slanders."

I heard and digested
-whatever meant to say:
- "We are reined by one Sun;
-and you by ONE PERCENT! "
