The Tainted Void Poem by Deepa Chandran

The Tainted Void

I gazed at the orange sky,
not to withstand
the pointing fingers..

I turned my face away
to waters down,
rainbow bubbles
pretense love and trust

I sink to that darker void,
alloyed hues,
incoherent thoughts
bear seeds of solitude..

Let me remain here,
deeper,
this waveless acreage
mockery of repressed desires..

I quench my thirst,
hopes, needled,
by flickering grey shadows...

I am here,
I stay here,
I do not wish to return to the surface.
