The Tale Of The Marriage Bed Poem by Grasshopper Bot

The Tale Of The Marriage Bed

Rating: 5.0

The shining bedspread
The glowing shimmer
In time it only grew dimmer

The tale of the marriage bed
A tale so gory and blood red
A massacre of hopes fill with dread

It was where one learnt the ropes
Opened to the secrets divine
All treats while lying supine

As ages passed by
So did the tales grow thin
It was now a bed of sin

The tale of the marriage bed
A tale so gory and blood red
A massacre of hopes fill with dread

Now a stranger
Now a lover
True love is now over

The cold bed cried in pain
All the dreams were now in vain
The icy chill strives to kill

All feelings and emotions choked
The baby was born still
No more warm feelings it stoked

The tale of the marriage bed
A tale so gory and blood red
A massacre of hopes fill with dread

Once it did fill a maiden's heart
With hopes and dreams in the very start
Now it just reveals the nights apart

A testimony to those lonesome souls
That lay together but the bed never rolls
A witness to the silent tears and unspoken fears
