I am that solitary bird
From the window looking in
That perfect life a watchin
A life with you sans the herd
I am that solitary bird
And I can see
A warm hearth free
A crackling fire nurtured
A pig cooking on the spit
A baffled dog watching me for a kill
As I on the corner stone sit
Really quiet and very still
The rain had brought me hither
Safe from the drops on the hedge
I perch on the ledge and twitter
I begin to prefer this to a wedge
But then all of a sudden
There is a flash attack
The spell is broken
And I am flat on my back
