The Thai Monk Poem by Howard Kern

The Thai Monk

Rating: 5.0

My stout Thai friend you watch and wait, till you know what is true.
My friend and tribe brother, a man very brave and true.
To see the souls of others, a gift that must be cloaked!
We can’t tell them what is true,
Most won’t understand, others will not believe,
Until wisdom gets through!

You are short in stature, and larger than life,
Standing up for what is right!
Small like a monkey with the heart of a lion, My friend I am glad we met.
The peace cycle will live, while people such as us are alive!

Go home and be a Monk, or papa with a faithful wife and many kids
Sit on your home shore remembering of our adventures
Telling Wild West stories to your kids
Of a wild Texas man and your very good friend!

GOD is in your heart as HE is with me!
The feeling that pours out from within
If you want the robe of Monks fitting loose to the skin
By GOD do it, my Monk worthy friend!

Never have I met a person with your passion of life
Your zest for life is addicting
You made me see my own vices, helping me to purify my temple.
My foundation now grounded on solid rock!

Winds of change are calling you home,
As my course change has come too.
I will miss you friend in our change of life
Both of us slower and older, and very wise…

dedicated to my good friend from Thailand

It is good to have a guide in life, and your Tai Monk, sounds like a fine man of wisdom and honour Howard! A tribute befitting the wisest status we can hope to obtain in life. The truth is always reveals eventually... Smiling, still waiting Tai
