The Thing Inside Me - Poem by Stephanie van Oudtshoorn

You are the thing inside me
The thing that hurts
The thing that cries
far below the surface you reside

You show no remorse
and have no guilt
Only this pain
the is always felt

You hide for a time
then it's easy to believe
you are gone
You at least can leave

Though you remain here always
forever hiding
forever hurting
Suracing to remind me you are there
