The Things I Love Poem by Dean Meredith

The Things I Love

Two girls playing in the street
A couple holding hands
Waves of wind through the wheat
Ripples in the sands

Bees and wasps and butterflies
Trees and birds and flowers
Clouds and rainbows in the skies
I could watch them all for hours

Sun and moon and stars above
And little creatures below
The purring cat and cooing dove
The soothing water's flow

Magpies' song at dusk or dawn
Dragonflies' figure-eights
These are the losses I will mourn
When I enter the pearly gates

Family and friends of mine
The love we'll always share
Our precious memories so fine
Sweeter than any air
