The Thought Comes First Poem by Edwina Reizer

The Thought Comes First

A thought comes before
the act we do.
If the thought is absent
the act will be through.

To presume to know
the outcome of fate
is to fool yourself
while you sit and wait.

And all the while
the deed you devise
can create your hell
if it is unwise.

So always think
before you proceed
or you may live to rue
the devious deed.
