The Three Things That Should Not Be Praised By The Individual Himself!
The ancestral pride that is well known by itself
in an assembly of the people who are capable of
knowing the genetic pride of others,
the esteemed knowledge of the one self
in the assembly of the most learned people
and the achieved victory that is acquired
in the winning battlefield, liked to the satisfaction
with the appreciation of the king
are the three things that should not be praised
by the individual concerned himself!

நேரிசை வெண்பா
தொல்லவையுள் தோன்றுங் குடிமையும் தொக்கிருந்த
நல்லவையுள் மேம்பட்ட கல்வியும் - வெல்சமத்து
வேந்துவப்ப வாட்டார்த்த வென்றியும் இம்மூன்றும்
தாந்தம்மைக் கூறாப் பொருள்.8 - திரிகடுகம்
