The Time Of Year Poem by Francis Duggan

The Time Of Year

The sun behind gray clouds is hidden away
But this not unusual for the end of the southern May
Big winds and heavy hail showers on the last days of the Fall
The rain is quite welcome by most if not all
The recent downpours has left the countryside looking green
And Nature at her healthiest is to be seen
But the farm dams as they were low in water remain
Though with the heavy rainfall none ought to complain
The impact of Climate change none ought to deny
In the past year the weather in the Moyne Shire has been mostly dry
And the thirsty earth benefitting from the record heavy rain
With such weather you will not hear many complain
The Autumn at an end and Winter so near
And the weather quite typical for the time of year.
