The Time's Saw Poem by Prof Niamat Ali Murtazai

The Time's Saw

As an Adam's son, I am an idol of desire
And because of it, I journey from ice to fire.
I cherish my ambition just like my living soul
It was not a part but a comprehensive whole.
But in the world of Time, it is a crime
To keep a desire in heart as something prime.
I was arrested and put to prison for some time
So that the case might be pursued with full rhyme.
At last, the judge of Fate gave his decree to fall
On the helpless man who was at his beck and call.
As a punishment, I was to be cut into two
The Time's saw could prove the activity true.
The sharp saw of Time cut me from head to feet
Since then the two parts with each other never meet.
Time is the real actor in man's life
Who cuts him into pieces with an unseen knife.
Time's saw cuts relations of heart and soul
Man finds himself surrounded in a deep dole.
Each neck is to be cut under this unseen saw
He who denies this has no wisdom but raw.
