The Tone Is Still There Poem by Red Trex

The Tone Is Still There

There is a tone.
Pretty faint but a tone none the less.

Yes, a faint little tone that snuck into my ear.
Not a whimper, not a sigh, but a tone.

Can you hear it?
Its not nagging. No never nagging. But...it is consistent.

Should we investigate the tone?
Should we question the tone?
Should we ignore the tone?
Should we keep it quiet?

Why on earth is there a tone? !
...Why can't we have the tone?
How did that tone even start?

...Even after all that...The tone is still there.

Something should be done about that tone.
Something is in progress to deal with the tone.
But I thought we were not meant to worry about it?
Don't argue with me about the tone?
You started it!
No you did!

...Did we forget the tone?
... It's still there.
