The Town Poem by Nebil Elias

The Town

Rating: 5.0

I'm in the heart of the town
Walking through the streets, feeling down.
My heart begins to drown when the sun goes down
The night is approaching, and darkness surrounds me

My hatred grows stronger as the shadows lengthen
On the life that I want to leave behind
And walkthrough the odds to survive

I've gone missing and can't be found
When I turn around, no one is there
I've been cut off from everyone
Until I've become unknown
I used to have friends, but they have left me

It's getting cold outside, and I'm all alone
There is nowhere to go
Just flashing lights and an empty road

A vivid portrayal of a life full of emptiness and sadness. A deeply poignant well expressed write.
