The Truth Is Poem by Wilma Horne

The Truth Is

Truth is:
I've cried too many tears to count
Laid awake too many a night
Wishing it all would end
I've felt too much pain and sorrow
No one knows this but me
Sometimes i've wondered
Would anyone care if im gone
I mean really care
I'd start to reach for the bottle of pills
But then i'd think of all my friends
And stop
And think what would they think
All they see is a smile that hides all the real pain
But i know that they do care
And i leave the room
Hoping and praying for a different end to my pain
But in the end
The truth is:
There's nothing to die for
But so much more to live for
