The Truth Will Set You Free Poem by Mal Sharp

The Truth Will Set You Free

They say the truth will set you free,
I've not found this to be the case.
I do not know if you'll agree,
For me it just leads to disgrace.

I am not saying you should lie,
But there's no reason to reveal,
All the secrets you hold nearby.
We all have something to conceal.

The truth will set you free, they say,
Sometimes it actually can.
Yet I think it's hypocrisy,
That's drilled into us by the man.
