The Turtle And The Rabbit Within Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Turtle And The Rabbit Within

i was once a turtle
but i wish i were a rabbit

and then i become a rabbit
speeding my ways
to the ends of the world

and then i got so tired
and sit below the tree
watching the clouds
and then i wish i were a
turtle again

back to my home that i carry
anywhere

that is it: the home is where the heart is.
not the wood and the steel.
